Coco-choc Balls

My Muppets had their birthday party today, and I wanted to make something that both the kids and the parents would like.  This is a recipe that I have made a number of times before , but this is the first time in the TMX.  Its easy, and the Thermomix makes it far less messy than trying to do the whole lot by hand.

Ingredients

1 packet Milk Arrowroot biscuits

1 can condensed milk

20g cocoa powder

120g dessicated coconut

Extra coconut to roll the balls in

Method:

Put the entire packet of biscuits in the bowl and mix on Speed 8 for 8 seconds.  Then check the consistency.  They should resemble a sandy breadcrumb consistency.

Add cocoa and mix on Reverse  Speed 5 for 6 seconds.

Add Coconut and mix on Reverse Speed 5 for 6 seconds.

I used the reverse here, because I didn’t want the biscuits to get anysmaller (or become a powder)

Add the entire can of condensed milk and mix on Reverse Speed 5 for 20 seconds.  Scrape down the sides and maybe give a few more seconds just to make sure that everything is combined.  You will need to listen to the machine here and see if you need to move to a higher speed because the mixture becomes quite thick and bulky.

Now,  its time to get sticky!

Put some extra coconut onto a plate or bowl.  Wet your hands, then use a spoon to measure out some of the mixture and roll  in your hands to form a ball, then roll them in the coconut .

Once all of t he balls are rolled and coated in coconut, place on a plate and put them in the fridge for 20 minutes or so. You can eat them straight from the fridge or leave them out for a few minutes before serving.

They are a lovely little treat and are enjoyed by kids and parents alike.

Enjoy!
